Controls Engineer

The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.


What you will be doing:



  • Create and commission industrial controls systems, PLC software design, and HMI screens, for different industries and environments.

  • Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system.

  • Conduct the peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.

  • Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to customer and/or company build specifications using standard techniques and approaches.

  • Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.


Skills


Required Skills:



  • PLC/HMI/SCADA programming from scratch

  • Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and/or Siemens, Mitsubishi, GE Proficy, etc. knowledge

  • Industrial communications protocols i.e. ProfiBus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, etc.

  • GM GCCS or GCCH Standards, Integra Standards, or other automotive controls standards preferred

Experience


Experience/Qualifications:



  • Experience in industrial automated machinery, robotics, controls systems programming and commissioning.

  • Experience with an integrator preferred

  • Experience with diverse brand controls equipment (Rockwell, Siemens) such as PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, motion controllers, power supplies, and sensors.

  • Experience with controls network setup and commissioning such as Ethernet and Profibus.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
