Senior Supply Chain Supervisor - Customer Logistics

The position is responsible for leading and supervising customer planners within the Customer Logistics group in the execution of procedures and work instruction to meet or exceed customer requirements for delivery, timing, quality, and cost. This position will effectively oversee all day-to-day activities involving customer planning activities, in addition to providing daily guidance, training, and tools for the customer planning group to meet objectives, improve customer relations, and maintain appropriate stock levels in accordance with production demands and ensuring the requisite parts supply to OEMs and Aftermarket. Position Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the day to day activities of the customer planners ensuring that all customer requirements and needs are reviewed and/or met. Supervise the analyses occurring with customer EDI, customer forecasts, and customer contractual volumes while making planning decisions based on said data through sales planning and program planning. Assist the Customer Logistics Manager with sales reconciliation and planning for current plus 2 years with a particular focus on finished goods inventory levels that avoid any sort of obsolescence costs. Collaborate with Program Specialist to generate a levelled and stable production program for current plus 2 years utilizing a robust sales plan. Lead and/or supervise the work of supply chain management/core team activities surrounding new transmission: product groups, variants, and product launches. Evaluate customer and production planning operations, review work of the customer planners, track costs/budget, enforce company policy, complete performance reviews, make staffing and disciplinary recommendations, and resolve issues with day to day operations and/or internal and external customers. Guide, develop, and motivate employees by championing individual and team efforts that aid managers in the development of professional staff to achieve individual leadership and company objectives. Provide technical, organizational, and team leadership for customer planning and customer logistics activities. Coordinate and implement customer logistics activities including internal and external: audit plans, procedures, and provide root cause analyses for the gaps. Supervise and/or conduct the training of professional staff required to achieve maximum job efficacy utilizing SAP and other tools needed to monitor, track, and analyze customer and internal production data. Investigate and determine requirements for new software and/or SAP transaction functionalities and report said findings to logistics management at the plant and business unit level. Serve as the primary liaison between the customer planning group and other groups within the logistics department in addition to leading collaborations with other departments (e.g. Purchasing, Quality, Operations, etc.). Lead continuous improvement programs and cost savings within the organization and supply chain. Champion a safe, productive work environment for the professional staff while adhering to ZF quality standards and policies. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies. Supervise customer planning compliance with all TS16949 and ISO-14001 requirements, ZF corporate policies, and divisional directives while enforcing departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI), metrics, and SAP procedures. Demonstrate the ability to act as a proxy for the Customer Logistics Manager in his or her absence while being able to take on the decision making abilities utilizing ZF Production System best practices. Other duties as it relates to this position. Essential Skills and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related and/or technical field. 8+ years of progressive experience working in customer logistics and/or related supply chain management position. 2+ years of experience with SAP or other related ERP systems. Working knowledge of plant and business unit procedures/processes. Proven ability to work independently and lead professional staff (e.g. schedule daily tasks, prioritize, execute) Proven ability to represent or lead logistics functions in cross-functional teams across all levels of personnel and management. Strong problem solving skills, having developed and presented 8D's and/or presentations to the customer. Exemplary time/project management skills while demonstrating the ability to produce results under constraints (e.g. time, budget, headcount, etc.) Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Proven ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills in the English language. High level of comfort with public speaking. An intercultural or multicultural understanding and approach. Ability to travel - both foreign and domestic. Understand and comply with TS 16949 and ISO 14000 Requirements. Knowledge of 2000 and 2010 Incoterms and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Experience in a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) customs environment. Preferred Skills and experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 5+ years of work experience in logistics (with a preference for the automotive industry). 3+ years of experience with SAP (SP1 a plus). 3+ years of experience supervising/directing the work of others in addition to delegating independent work assignments, projects, and tasks. Working knowledge of requirements from Core Tools such as: APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flows, etc. APICS Certification and/or Six Sigma Training. Independent, creative, and innovative work approach. German and Spanish language skills a plus. Knowledge of ISO-9000, TS 16949 and ISO-14000 standards and requirements.
